THAT'S FOR THE BIRDS! Some children in Mrs. Williams’ 2nd grade class have been participating in a program called FeedWatch. FeedWatch is a November-April survey of birds that visit backyards, nature centers, community areas, and other locales in North America. A feeder has been set up near the recess area. The birds visiting the feeder are counted two days a week, the count is then entered online. The counts we do locally allow scientists to track what is happening to birds around our home and contribute to a world wide database.

NAC Elementary celebrated the 100th day of school on Monday, February 14! Students created visual displays of 100 objects, 100 words, or dressed like they were 100 years old! We love the creativity of our families and teachers.

February 14th is the 100th Day of School!!! After the holidays, perhaps the largest celebration for elementary students is the 100th day of school. From the very first day, classes begin keeping track of the number of days they have been in school in anticipation of the 100th day. It is a milestone that represents progress, growth, and achievement. For educators, this is likely a moment for reflection: What has been working well? What has not? What are your goals for the rest of the school year? For students, it is the perfect opportunity for creative learning and celebration. Festive decorations and "Dress for the Claus" week are fueling our holiday cheer at NAC Elementary! Wishing everyone a happy and healthy winter holiday vacation!

PTO Adirondack Coffee fundraiser orders have been delayed!!

NAC HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE! All clubs and classes are working together to fill the local area food pantries. Help us meet the NAC school-wide donation goal of 260 pounds of food! Now through December 20, please place nonperishable food items under the Christmas Trees in the wrapped boxes at the Elementary and Middle/High School buildings. We can accomplish so many good things by working together!
