Important Update: Changes to Bell Schedule
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope this message finds you well. I want to express my gratitude for your continued support as we navigate our school year together.
I am writing to inform you of a change to our bell schedule when we return from the holiday on January 6. This adjustment aims to alleviate some of the attendance challenges we have been experiencing due to our current bus situation.
Starting the week of January 6, the first four periods will rotate as follows:
January 6 - January 10: 4, 3, 2, 1
January 13 - January 17: 3, 4, 1, 2
Please note that any seniors who usually have a late arrival may need to come to school at the regular start time if they have a scheduled class during the 3rd or 4th period.
As a reminder we continue to offer after school academic support at all middle and high school grade levels, Tuesday - Thursday of each week. Other nights of academic recovery are available at students request.
We will keep you informed of any future adjustments to our schedule as we work to improve attendance related to late bus runs. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Subject: Important Announcement: Regents Exam Week Protocol
Dear Middle and High School Parents and Guardians,
I am writing to inform you about the schedule for the upcoming Regents exams, which will take place from Tuesday, January 21, to Friday, January 24. During this week, high school students will NOT have regular classes at NAC. We will be administering the Regents exams and Biology investigations. It is important to note that middle school students WILL have regular classes and should report to school daily.
Please note that high school students should only report to school if they are taking a Regents exam or participating in a Biology investigation. The only exception to this protocol is for our Juniors and Seniors who attend CV-TEC. These students will receive transportation daily, following their usual schedule.
Thank you for your attention to this important information, and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

NAC Key Club recently volunteered at the Make A Wish booth in the mall. Builders Club and Key Club members also collected donations during lunches this week that will be sent to Make A Wish.
On December 11th, members of NHS and NJHS got into the holiday spirit by singing carols at the Alice Center, Farrar Home and Valley Ridge Manor Apartments in Malone. Students were able to give back to the community and were able to enjoy some yummy Chinese food too. Thank you to Mrs. Barkman and Mrs. Trombley for making this field trip possible.
NAC Builders Club would like to thank everyone who enjoyed Movie Night last Friday and those who brought items for the school wide Food Drive. 114 pounds of food was collected! Our goal is to beat last year's total of 378 lbs by December 19th -- it's not too late to drop off donations in either school building! Everything collected stays in our district.
NAC School Wide Food Drive from December 4 - December 19. All items stay local and will be donated to the Altona, Churubusco, Ellenburg, and Lyon Mountain food pantries as well as the NACS Backpack program. All items must be non-expired and non-perishable. Drop-off location - Donate items in the boxes under the Christmas Trees in the lobbies of both buildings. The drive is presented by NAC Key Club, Builders Club and K-Kids.

Good evening Middle High School families. Our Cafeteria staff needs your help and support. Lately there have been a few students who give our Cafeteria staff a hard time about taking fruit or juice at breakfast or fruit or vegetables at lunch. The taking of these items is not a school rule, it is a New York State requirement that guarantees that our students receive the required amount of fruits, vegetables, and grains per meal. Compliance with this rule helps us maintain a free meal program. Please encourage your children to take these items without giving our Cafeteria staff a hard time as we move forward. If your child does not plan to eat the items, the items can be placed in a designated location for others to take as extra servings, which is popular and prevents food being wasted by being thrown in the trash. Thank you for your continued support.
The NACS Yearbook staff would like to remind seniors and their parents of important dates and information for the remainder of the 24-25 school year. Please click on the following link for more information: https://5il.co/311fr

The NYSED Chief Privacy and Chief Information Security Officer forwarded the following information.
It has been brought to NYSED’s attention that parents and/or guardians of children who have recently taken an SAT or PSAT exam have been receiving scam calls requesting that the parent/guardian provide personal information, including a credit card number, to mail the test results.
Please be advised that any legitimate SAT test or prep. organization would not request payment or personal financial details over the phone for test results.
We therefore ask you to share the following information with parents and guardians to prevent them from falling victim to these scams.
Dear parent or guardian please let this serve as a reminder that you should not share personal or financial information over the phone with unsolicited callers. If you receive such a call, hang up immediately. We are sending this reminder because parents and/or guardians of children who have recently taken an SAT or PSAT exam have been receiving scam calls requesting personal information, including a credit card number, to mail the test results.
Additional tips about how to protect yourself from SAT test-related scams can be found on the Better Business Bureau website and below:
Always be wary of unsolicited callers: If you receive a random call from someone asking for payment, research their organization before sharing any personal information.
Double check with your child: If someone claims they're calling because of a service your child requested, hang up and check with your child first.
Understand the College Board's practices: The College Board will never ask you for your bank or credit card information over the phone or through email.
Don't give your financial information to strangers: Never agree to pay a stranger with any form of payment for a purchase you didn't initiate.
Thank you,
