NAC Elementary is rocking March with our second annual school-wide BOBCAT MARCH MADNESS TOURNAMENT OF BOOKS!! Monday, March 21st begins the Elite 8 rounds of the tournament that gives students the chance to vote each day on a pair of read-alouds. The championship round will be March 31 and students and staff will be encouraged to dress in support of their team.. er... BOOK. The competition has been fierce during the first two weeks of the Sweet 16 and there have already been some surprising upsets. Ask your favorite Bobcat about the tournament and stay tuned for more updates...

The term is for five years; one of the seats that is available is currently held by Mark DeCoste and the other open seat is a three year term to fill the remaining term of left of Willie Venne’s. The seat is available is currently held by Richard Harriman, Sr.. Candidates who’d like to seek a position must be: a U.S. citizen; at least 18 years old; and a resident of the district for at least one year before the election. Also, board members may not reside with a family member who is presently on the School Board, and they can’t be an employee of the school. Those who would like to be considered as candidates for this term must submit a petition to District Clerk, Brittany LaBombard by the end of business on April 18, 2022 either by email to brlabombard@nacs1.org or by fax to 518-594-7255.

The Northern Adirondack School Board will meet at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022 in the Middle High School Auditorium for the 4th Budget Work Session followed by a Regular Board Meeting at 6:00pm. This meeting is open to the public. Facemasks are not requirement for public to attend.

Please take a moment to read a preliminary press release from the Clinton County Health Department that is shared in the NEWS section of our website and on our Facebook page. More information will be shared tomorrow afternoon when more of the related items and mitigation factors are worked out and the NYSDOH releases its guidance for review by the CCHD and area Superintendents, however masks will be optional starting on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.

Due to the expected winter storm, there will be no practices tomorrow, Friday, February 25, 2022, and all staff expected to work tomorrow now do not have to. Since we were unable to distribute the COVID-19 Home Rapid Test Kits before break as a result of emergency days, we will be making them available tomorrow, Thursday, February 24, in the Middle/High School entrance from 10am until 2pm. If you do not pick up your test kits tomorrow, they will be sent home with your student on Monday when they return. Stay safe with the weather that is on the way.
