ATTENTION PARENTS OF STUDENT ATHLETES IN GRADES 6-11: As we enter 4th quarter it is important to remember that 4th quarter grades will carry over towards Fall sports eligibility. Any student that is failing 2 or more classes on their 4th quarter report card will be subject to the same sports ineligibility as the other sports are during the course of the school year.

Attention Middle School Parents: As the weather warms up, finally, it is understandable that students wish to dress in cooler clothing. Please be reminded that the Middle School does have a dress code policy in place which is strongly enforced. This includes brief and see-through garments. Shirts must touch the top of the pants and skirts and shorts will be no shorter than 5 inches above the kneecap. Click on the following link to view an excerpt from the Student Handbook as it pertains to the dress code. https://5il.co/18m4p Thank you for your cooperation.

ATTENTION MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENTS In the next couple days, the New York State Grades 6-8 English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics Assessments will be administered to students. We encourage your child's participation in the required NYS assessments in Grades 6-8 because the data retrieved about your child is helpful and is one of several measures that we utilize to determine the strengths and learning needs of our students. The data also assists us in evaluating our curriculum and prioritizing our existing resources and programs. Furthermore, the assessments provide parents, students, and teachers with meaningful feedback regarding student progress over time. These results are used solely within the district to inform instruction and are not connected to educator evaluation. What Parents Should Know About NYS Assessments: • New York State uses the results from these assessments in identifying which schools and districts across the State need additional support and targeted improvement. • Testing the entire student population will show more clearly what all of our students know in relation to the standards. The 2021-2022 NYS assessments will be administered on the following dates: Assessment Grade Level(s) Date(s) English Language Arts Grades 6-8 March 29 & March 30 Mathematics Grades 6-8 April 26 & April 27 Science (Performance) Grades 8 May 25 Science (Written) Grades 8 June 6 Please reach out to your child's teacher, counselor, or principal with any questions or concerns you may have.

SPECTATOR LIMITS: IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT Many schools have decided to limit spectators in their gymnasiums. In an effort to not limit spectators at our athletic events, we are now requiring all NAC fans to sit in the bleachers on the side of the gym directly across from (or on the same side as) the NAC athletes bench. With the current rise in COVID cases we are hoping to mitigate this as best we can without limiting spectators. Thanks for your cooperation with this matter. Let's use this opportunity to show our Bobcat pride and support our teams by participating with the call and response from our cheerleading squad! Nothing picks up the spirit of the teams playing like some Positive fan participation and cheering.

We are celebrating Computer Science Education Week (December 6-12) in our district by participating in the Hour of Code. This is a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify code and show that anybody can learn the basics. Click the following link to see what it is all about: https://hourofcode.com/us/learn We live in a world surrounded by technology. And we know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly depend on understanding how technology works.
