Good evening NAC families. This message is to introduce a transportation situation that may arise throughout the year as a result of a bus driver and substitute bus driver shortage. NAC will send a message to all of those on a specific bus number, if there will be a delay in service for that bus number. We as a district plan to get these messages out as soon as possible to allow for planning. If the message involves a morning bus run, the families who have students on a specifically impacted bus number will receive a phone message stating that their children will not be picked up on time, and instead will be picked up as soon as a bus is available to go back out and pick up a second bus load of students. We expect the morning delay to be anywhere from 30 minutes to 45 minutes. If the message involves an afternoon bus run, the families who have students on a specifically impacted bus number will receive a phone message stating that their children will remain at school in a monitored setting until a bus returns from dropping off other students. We expect this delay to also be 30 minutes to 45 minutes. We are aware that this will cause an inconvenience to those impacted, but with the shortage that we are experiencing we have had to develop this plan. Thank you for your understanding.
