Good afternoon NAC families,
The information in italics below was shared with the School District Leaders in Clinton County this afternoon. Please read the message and understand that as we are moving forward the District will be responsible for the official Quarantine Orders that previously were provided via email from the Clinton County Health Department. Since the first cases that we experienced as a School District we have been making the effort to provide courtesy phone calls to the families that were to be notified by the Health Department and impacted by a Quarantine Order. This change in the process listed below now requires us to initiate the Official Notification Email that previously came from the Clinton County Health Department.

Hi School Leaders- With the high number of active school cases we are seeing, we are unable to process contacts in a timeframe that meets your and your students’ needs. Until the number of school cases decreases, we will provide a blanket quarantine order to the school with the appropriate dates that you can distribute to students/ families identified as contacts, as soon as they are identified.
We will process school contacts Monday- Friday and families may hear from the state contact tracing team to provide a personalized order. However, there is a chance families will NOT hear from the state contact tracing team. Also as result of this adjustment, students may or may not receive a formal release from isolation. It will be important for the school to maintain the spreadsheet and awareness of when students can return as there may or not be an electronic trail in the contact tracing software for us to reference.
We will begin this process this weekend (possibly later today in light of the high number of new school cases today). We acknowledge some shortcomings in switching to this system but feel it addresses the need of families to have the formal order noting the specific quarantine dates ASAP.
Thank you!
Thank you for your continued support and understanding during these trying times,
James C. Knight, Jr.
Superintendent of Schools
