SUPERINTENDENT’S MESSAGE...

Welcome back to the 2017-2018 school year. In a blink of an eye summer is ending and Fall is quickly approaching as we begin another exciting academic year at Northern Adirondack Central School District. I hope you have enjoyed your summertime with friends and families.

We’ve been hard at work and busy preparing for our students this summer. The buildings and grounds look amazing, the buses are fueled up and ready to roll and faculty/staff are looking forward to the doors once again opening to welcome our student body.

Student achievement remains our highest priority. It is important that our children are in our classrooms daily, keeping focused on their learning and celebrating successes along the way. We are dedicated to providing a rigorous curriculum as well as a diverse choice of extra-curricular activities so that our students will be well prepared for college and career.

With our Smart Schools Investment Plans we will embrace change and welcome emerging technology. Students will have the opportunity to use Chromebooks in lieu of textbooks, and a long distance learning lab will allow students to take upper level courses. We will provide outstanding access to technology to prepare students for successful futures.

We will continue to offer free breakfast and lunch and afterschool snacks for all of our students on campus. Our cafeterias have new tables that will provide seating that encourages positive communications among students.

A big thank you goes out to the PTO for purchasing a Gazebo by the elementary playground in which picnic tables will be placed so that elementary classes can go outside for learning as well as play activities.

We are awaiting New York State Education Department approval to complete our bleacher renovations at the high school gymnasium, resurfacing of our tennis courts and continued replacement of our backstops on the athletic fields.

I highly encourage you to utilize our school website www.nacs1.org and the Northern Adirondack Central School District Facebook Page to stay in touch with what is happening in our District. We strive to ensure our sites are up-to-date and a valuable resource to our school community. Our online calendar as well as sports calendar are helpful to stay informed of events and important dates as well as any changes in scheduling that may occur.

We will continue to serve every child who walks through our doors in a safe and secure learning environment. As a school community your continued support is key to the success of our students.
